Fragrance Design & Contract Manufacturing

Atelier Madrona partners with brands to create custom private label fragrances and fragranced products, offering both artistry and end-to-end production support. Whether you’re developing a signature perfume or cologne, a line of candles, room sprays, or other air care products, our team of Perfumers and artisans will help bring your vision to life.

We are more than a perfumer for hire—we are a contract perfumer and boutique manufacturing partner. From fragrance design and formulation to testing, compliance, packaging, and small-batch manufacturing, Atelier Madrona provides a seamless path from concept to finished product.

    • Custom Creations Only – Every fragrance is developed from scratch; we never rely on a stock library.

    • Unlimited Revisions – We refine formulas until you’re completely satisfied.

    • Direct Access to Perfumers – Work directly with the creators, not through intermediaries.

    • Hands-On Collaboration – Join us in the lab for an interactive development process.

    • Flexible Production – No minimum order quantity; we scale to meet your needs.

    • Exclusivity – Your fragrance formula is archived for you alone and will never be shared with another client.

  • Every private label project begins with a creative brief—a collaborative session where we capture your brand’s vision, story, and goals. From there, we develop several initial fragrance sketches, exploring multiple olfactive directions and raw material options, each with indicative cost considerations.

Together, we refine your chosen direction through as many revisions as needed, adjusting balance, harmony, and formulation to achieve your ideal fragrance. Once the composition is finalized, the fragrance undergoes a rigorous testing and compliance phase, including:

    • Stability and performance testing

    • Safety testing for skin compatibility

    • Compliance reviews for IFRA, EU, and FDA standards

    • Generation of IFRA and SDS certificates

    • Ingredient lists and documentation for labeling requirements

When it’s time for production, we handle small-batch manufacturing and bottling in-house. For larger runs, we work with trusted contract manufacturing partners to manage blending, filling, and packaging at scale. We also provide support with bottle and cap sourcing, labeling, and packaging design to ensure every detail reflects your brand.

    • Timeline: 6–12 months for fragrance development and production

    • Fees: Determined by the scope of your project

    • Additional Services: Pricing strategy, packaging design, sourcing, and manufacturing support available upon request

    • Production: In-house for boutique runs; contract partners for large-scale manufacturing

    • Exclusivity: Your fragrance formula will be securely archived and never used for another client

Intentional design built to bring ideas to life

Where creativity meets clarity and vision turns into action. We believe in doing things differently, with intention, with passion, and with people at the center of every decision. Every detail is thoughtfully crafted to turn ideas into meaningful, lasting experiences.

Private Label Fragrance Development Process

Private label fragrance development is a multi stage process that balances creative direction, technical formulation, and production planning. Each project follows a structured path to ensure clarity, consistency, and reliable outcomes.

Project timelines vary based on scope, revision cycles, and production volume. Most projects require several months from initial consultation to final production.

Phase One. Discovery and Creative Direction

Every project begins with a focused consultation. During this stage, we define the purpose of the fragrance, the intended audience, and how the product will be used or distributed. This conversation establishes scent direction, production considerations, and realistic timelines before formulation begins.

Clear alignment at this stage helps streamline development and reduce revisions later in the process.

Phase Two. Concept Development

Using the creative brief as a foundation, we develop multiple fragrance concepts that explore different scent profiles and material options. These concepts are designed to give clients a clear sense of direction and provide a strong starting point for refinement.

Concept development allows for informed decision making early in the process before moving into detailed formulation work.

Phase Three. Formulation and Refinement

Selected fragrance concepts are refined through controlled revision rounds. Adjustments focus on balance, performance, and suitability for the intended product format. This stage continues until the fragrance meets approval for its intended use.

All revisions are documented to support consistency and repeatability.

Phase Four. Testing and Documentation

Once the fragrance is finalized, it enters a testing and documentation phase. This step supports responsible production and distribution and may include stability evaluation, safety review for intended use, and preparation of relevant documentation such as IFRA and SDS materials.

This phase ensures the fragrance is ready to move forward into production.

Phase Five. Production and Packaging Support

After approval, the fragrance moves into production. We support both small batch and larger volume manufacturing based on project needs. Packaging coordination may include assistance with bottle, cap, and packaging sourcing to ensure alignment with the approved fragrance and brand presentation.

Approved formulas are retained to support future production and reorders.

Custom Perfume for Weddings and Special Events

Custom fragrance products are often used for wedding favors, welcome gifts, and branded event experiences. Clients can work with our team to develop a scent that reflects the tone and style of the occasion.

Projects may include small batch perfume bottles, custom labels, coordinated packaging, and timeline planning around event dates. Early consultation is recommended to allow adequate development and production time.
