Opening in Madrona

Atelier Madrona, the creative studio of bespoke perfumer, Chelsey Owen, is tucked away in a 400-square-foot space once part of the private home of renowned Seattle-based furniture maker, and architect, Roy McMakin.  The appointment-only perfumery is a jewel box designed by award-winning interior designer Hyde Evans Design in collaboration with Chelsey.

Featuring high ceilings, exposed beams, and natural light, the laboratory-meets-Parisienne-Pied-a-Tier space speaks to the history of the building while maintaining a feminine yet modern feel.   The Atelier, French for “artist’s workshop” will be the center for creation and production of bespoke fragrances, private label creations, and exploratory workshops.

Central to the studio is a 9’ x 11’ mural painted by Chelsey’s brother, Scott Owen, in honor of their mother Stephanie.  The flowers depicted are the artist’s interpretation of the chamelaucium “Lady Stephanie” waxflower.  “The design of the studio, was inspired by my mother, Stephanie.  She embodied grace and was an extremely elegant woman – refined, feminine and modern.  She was passionate about life and eager to leave her mark on the world.”

Atelier Madrona is open by appointment only.  To schedule, call (206) 963-8333 or email info@ateliermadrona.com
